Port is a fortified wine from the remote vineyards in Portugal's Douro Valley. In the Douro Valley, time has almost stood still, and Portugal’s wine industry has remained pretty much the way it was over a hundred years ago. It is for this reason that Port is still one of the world's greatest wines!

Chef Darrell and Sommelier John have chosen a variety of the finest Port wines available, and complemented them with a wonderful selection of Kapiti cheese dishes. Delicious dishes include A zesty Awa blue cheese salad with wild arugula and char-grilled apricot, soy basted shredded quail; and Ramara wash rind cheese baked with cinnamon crusted apple, roasted walnuts, yabbies and white port glaze; Zucchini flowers stuffed with Kapiti cow Feta and caramelised figs, sesame tempura, yoghurt and mint.

Hong Kong, June, 2005 - InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong is delighted to announce the appointment of Sergio Zanetti as Chef de cuisine of the popular Italian restaurant “The Mistral”.

Zanetti, who recently joined the hotel from the “Tavola 36” Swissôtel Nankai, Osaka (a Raffles Hotel), where he was Chef, brings a wealth of Italian homegrown knowledge to The Mistral!

The young and talented Chef, who hails from Piedmont, gained his experience in some of Italy’s finest establishments, including the acclaimed “Four Seasons”, Milan, and the Michelin starred “Hotel Villa Crespi” in Orta San Giulio.

Zanetti went on to become an accomplished Executive Chef Instructor at the respected Italian “Culinary Institute for Foreigners”, and he travelled the world over teaching the art of Italian cuisine in 19 different countries.

Sergio’s culinary talents have also been called upon to prepare a Gala dinner for the president of Italy Mr Carlo Azeglio Ciampi.

Mistral guests will now have the opportunity to experience what Sergio describes as “authentic Italian cuisine, inspired by my grandmother, fine tuned by talented chefs, and brought to life through ingredients straight from the markets of Italy”.
