Hong Kong, 27th July 2004 - Chef Leung at InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong’s Chinese restaurant, Hoi King Heen, will feature his “Home Cooking” for the month of September.
Xiqiao, situated in the south western part of Nanhai in the Guangdong Province, is Chef Leung’s home town. Known for its great natural beauty, Xiqiao has 72 graceful peaks with numerous caves, springs, lakes and waterfalls, including the “Water Flies” 1,000-meter falls. It is also abundant in agricultural resources such as rice and fishery.
Chef Leung has decided to pay tribute to his hometown by creating a variety of traditional dishes that reflect the food and tradition of the region. Dishes such as Braised cabbage rolls with roasted pork belly, gingko nuts and mashed Yunnan ham; Simmered vegetarian chicken with vegetables and beans; Baked shrimp mousse stuffed with weed and crab meat; Pan-fried sweet potato cakes with sweet corn, bacon and egg; and Deep-fried crispy eel with minced pork in honey sauce.
